Our Annual Events
The Foundation has events all year long to help fund The Stuff the Bus Events. Take a look at which one’s you might be interested in going to this year!
Each June we have our official kickoff event. The Stuff the Bus Family Fun Run and 1 K Glimmer Gallop presented by Bowling Green Athletic Club at Chaney’s Dairy Barn. This event brings together not only competitive runners but also families of all ages to take part in this fun morning to help raise funds for the upcoming Stuff the Bus Event.

This is a one day 12 hour Social Media Telethon Fundraising event at Bluegrass Cellular on Campbell Lane in Bowling Green. Be sure to call in during the event to make a donation to help support your local Stuff the Bus!
Beginning July 6th, Houchens and Bluegrass Cellular team up for the “Houchens Month of Giving” where we ask you to show your support for the Stuff the Bus Foundation.
During this event, guest’s visiting any of the Houchens locations to purchase a Bluegrass Cellular mobile phone have the option to purchase a pledge of their support in the amount of $1, $5, and $20 (respectively), and then proudly sign their names to each bus to be displayed on the walls and windows of 55 Houchens Industries locations over 15 counties in Southern Kentucky including Crossroads IGA, PriceLess IGA, IGA Express, and many more! Houchens gives 100% of the proceeds to Stuff the Bus, keeping your money 100% local.
Thank you Southcentral Kentucky for all of your support as we continue to provide essentials for our children in the local community! In the last 13 years we have collected 25 Tons of school supplies and served children in over 12 counties and counting! All thanks to people like you and our local support!
July 27th: 14th Annual Stuff the Bus: LIVE EVENT: the 2019 event will be a first of it’s kind for Southern Kentucky. At Bluegrass Cell on Campbell Lane the STB Foundation will partner with Facebook Live, Sublime Media, and multiple Facebook destinations to stream a 12 hour live telethon. The Live Broadcast Event is sponsored by German American Bank and Bendix. The final hour will be broadcast live on WNKY-NBC. On this day people can help “Stuff the Bus” in multiple ways.
We will be collecting school supplies on site in honor of our 13 year prior tradition but also with Bluegrass Cell viewers will be able to call in and make monetary donations as well that will stay 100% local with kids in Southern Kentucky. They can also designate to which county they would like their donation to go to directly.
Stuff the Bus Foundation Teacher Appreciation Night with the Bowling Green Hot Rods
During the Month of July Stuff the Bus teams with Bluegrass Cellular to hit the road and visit with all the counties that are hosting Stuff the Bus Kickoff Events. We visit each county and help them with their individual events and raise awareness about needs in each specific region that we serve.
Since 2015 Stuff the Bus has teamed up with the Bowling Green Hot Rods for Stuff the Bus night at the ballpark. The Hot Rods wear themed jerseys with the auctioned proceeds going to Stuff the Bus. Thru the generous efforts of the Hot Rods we have raised over $3500.00 since 2015.
Over 500 families in need were able to enjoy a nice Thanksgiving dinner through the Turkey Drop food donations. We want to extend this to Christmas dinner too!
June 24th-July 12th: Bluegrass Cellular Kickoff Tour: The Stuff the Bus Foundation will be visiting our supporting counties at various Bluegrass Cellular locations. Including Logan, Barren, Grayson, Allen, and many more.
July 26th: Bluegrass Cellular Stuff the Bus Kidz Block Party: This inaugural event will be a FREE Kidz Block Party at the Bluegrass Cell location on Campbell Lane in Bowling Green from 7:30pm to 9:00pm. Featuring all kid friendly dance music from DJ Scott Lewis. Plus Broadway the Clown and inflatables. Also the first 100 kids will get FREE Kona Ice! Bluegrass Cell will be giving away a free classroom upgrade as well in partnership with the STB Foundation. Plus kids “carnival” type games and much more! It’s all free but families are encouraged to bring school supply donations to the event for Stuff the Bus!
Do you have a knack for fundraisers? Got a cool idea you want to present? Let’s talk and get the creative juices flowing! We can start an annual event that benefits Stuff the Bus while you get local recognition and advertising! It’s a win win for everyone.
Stop by and enjoy a BBQ with Stuff the Bus Foundation! We will be cooking out and serving up grilled hotdogs, hamburgers, and sack lunches at German American Bank from open to close! Come grab your BBQ and show your support from any of the four locations. All proceeds stay local and go to support your local Stuff the Bus Foundation!
